After listing your product on Amazon, you may need to update the GS1 GTIN on your listing at some point. This may be due to an update with your product or because Amazon has asked to update the GTIN.
If Amazon has requested the change:
- You should open a ticket with Amazon Selling Partner Support and ask to change the GTIN, however, usually a new listing will have to be created.
- If Amazon has given a deadline to update the GTIN, you should follow any protocols given by Amazon to avoid penalties.
If your product has been changed:
- If your product has been changed and has new a GTIN according to GS1 GTIN management rules, a new product page should be created because it is a different product for the end-consumer which means existing reviews and history do not apply.
