How do I identify my products and cases?
The first step in identifying your products and cases is to assign a Global Trade Item Number.
A Global Trade Item Number, or GTIN, is used to identify your product, pack, case, or display unit on the global market. Sometimes GTINs are still referred to by their old names - EAN or UPC - but they are all GTINs. After you receive your licence information, you can start assigning GTINs to your items.
Each unique product or case, as well as their variations, requires its own barcode number, or GTIN. Variations can include colour, flavour, size, material, and style. Case variations would also include different product combinations contained in the case.
Each packaging level also requires its own GTIN. For example, an individual unit would need its own number, a 6-pack that item comes in needs a new number, and the case they are shipped in needs another number.
Barcode Manager makes assigning GTINs to your products simple. You can watch an overview of how to use Barcode Manager HERE.
