Signing up, logging in and setting your prefix

1. Register to use Barcode Manager

First time users

If you have not used Barcode Manager before please contact the GS1 Ireland Helpdesk for advice on getting started. This is particularly important for existing GS1 members who already have barcoded product on the market.

We will help and advise you on how to prepare your existing product information (with the corresponding barcode numbers) for upload into Barcode Manager. It is important to ensure that ALL existing barcodes are uploaded prior to allocating any new barcode numbers. This is to prevent any duplication of numbers.

 2. Log in to Barcode Manager

Access Barcode Manager via the GS1 Ireland Members Area

  • To access Barcode Manager go to the GS1 Ireland website and log in to the Members Area.
  • Click any of the Barcode Manager links to open the tool. Quicklinks can be found on the Members Area Homepage and in My Dashboard. Open Barcode Manager.
  • Familiarise yourself with the Barcode Manager Dashboard.
  • From here you can see your prefixes (Prefix management), add, view and edit products (Products) and download the product information you have entered (Export).
  • We strongly recommend you watch our short video which explains how to set up a product in Barcode Manager. The video specifically focuses on the 7 mandatory fields which you must compete in order to save a product.
