Can I change my licence size if I need more barcodes or I don't need as many as I purchased?

I've assigned all my barcodes and need more numbers. What can I do? 

When you purchase a barcode licence, you are allocated a specific prefix with a set amount of GTINs that can be created. If you've used all your barcodes, you will need to purchase an additional licence. You can either purchase a licence of the same size or get the next licence up if you think you will need a lot of numbers.

The new licence will be its own unique prefix with a separate annual fee and cannot be combined with your original licence.

If you get the larger licence and want everything on the single licence, you will need to assign GTINs from the new prefix to your existing products, update the packaging, and inform your trading partners of the change. Then once all products with the original  prefix are off the market, you can cancel the licence.

I got a large licence and have only used a few numbers, can I get a smaller licence but keep the same GTINs?

If you want a smaller licence, you will need to first purchase the new licence, then you will be allocated a new company prefix to assign new barcode numbers to your products. You will need to relist the new barcode numbers with your retailers and also change the barcodes on your product packaging. We would advise that you discuss such a change with your trading partners beforehand to ensure it will not pose any issues for them or you.

Once you have your new barcode licence and have replaced all of your barcode numbers, you can then cancel your existing licence once you are sure there are no longer any of those barcode numbers still in use.
